II ABOUT

A life of fly fishing, a passion built one knot at a time

I have had a rod in my hands for more than fifty years. I have cast across half the world, from Alpine rivers to tropical flats, before realizing the waters I love most were an hour from home. Today I tie my own flies and show whoever wants how I read these streams.

III VALUES

How I work

Catch & Release

Every fish goes back in the water. You take home the memory, not the catch.

Small groups

Two people maximum. A full day tailored to your pace, no rush.

All inclusive

Rods, flies, permits. You bring the will to fish, I take care of the rest.

V QUESTIONS

Answers to the most common questions

Do I need experience to join a fly fishing trip?

I welcome complete beginners as well as experienced anglers. For first-timers I cover the basics during the trip, from casting technique to choosing the right fly for the conditions.

What is the best season to fish?

Fly fishing runs from March to December on the Adda and Mera rivers, from March to October in alpine streams, and from June to October in alpine lakes. Perch fishing on Lake Como is on request.

How long is a typical trip?

The classic formats are the full day, around eight hours, and the 'coup de soir', six afternoon hours with evening fishing when fish are most active on the surface. All details and prices on the Fly Fishing page.

Do you tie the flies you use?

Yes, I tie all the artificial flies I bring on the water and make available to my guests, both dry flies and nymphs, for trout, grayling and char.

Where do the trips depart from?

Trips start directly from the river or lake spots we agree on via WhatsApp before the appointment, usually in Valtellina, Valchiavenna or on the Lecco branch of Lake Como.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothing suited to the weather and non-slip shoes or rain boots. On request I can provide complete gear, rod, reel, waders and wading boots. Fishing permits are not included, but I can help with the paperwork if needed.

How much does a fly fishing trip on Lake Como cost?

A fly fishing outing starts at €300 per angler for the six-hour coup de soir, while the full day is €450. Perch fishing on Lake Como is on request. Rates per single angler, the second angler adds €100.
