I have been fishing for over fifty years, and fly fishing soon became my way of being on the water. I have known rivers and seas around half the world before choosing to stay here, among the alpine waters of Northern Italy and the Lario, and to make it my profession as a guide.

Fishing entered my life more than fifty years ago and never left. In the following years I traveled to fish everywhere: European freshwater, tropical saltwater, mountain rivers that look like they came out of a book. Every water taught me something new about technique, about reading the current, about respecting the fish. I came back to the valleys of Northern Italy with one conviction: few places in the world offer the variety of waters we find here within a one-hour drive.
I know every bend of these rivers and every secret of these waters. I know where the fish move and when, at every point in the season.
Adda, Mera and tributaries. Brown trout, marble trout, grayling. Technical and selective waters.
Pure alpine rivers and high altitude lakes. Char and trout in the most transparent waters.
Large lake with deep structures. Perch fishing from the boat, on request.
High-altitude waters, crystal-clear and silent. Trout and char, from June to October.
An artificial fly is a small hook dressed with feathers, fur and thread, built to imitate the insect the fish is feeding on at that moment. I tie them all, one by one: I imitate the seasonal hatches, the right invertebrate, the presentation that works on that stream. My fly box is not a generic assortment, it is a precision tool.

I practice and teach fish release with every precaution: barbless hooks, minimal handling, a quick return to the water. In a small alpine stream every fish counts, and must be treated as the fragile, precious thing it is. Fishing well, to me, also means leaving the river exactly as I found it.
One message and I answer you myself, in person, in Italian, English or German. Let's talk dates, waters and the fish we'll go looking for.
